Tim Piehler is a doctoral student in clinical psychology at the University of Oregon and a NIDA NRSA predoctoral fellow at the Child and Family Center. His research interests broadly include the role of the peer group in development of antisocial behavior and substance use during adolescence. Specifically, he is interested in the dynamics involved in deviant peer contagion, as well as the individual characteristics associated with resilience in situations of deviant peer influence. He relies heavily on observational coding in his research and has a particular focus on advanced quantitative methods including structural equation and latent growth modeling.
